創作理念：
鶯歌地名源自當地北面的一塊巨大岩石，其形狀似鷹，栩栩如生，睥睨人間，故被稱為鷹哥石。時看像巨鷹嘯唳，時更似鸝鶯歌啼，因「鷹」與「鶯」同音，爾後改名「鶯歌」。此地標長嘯高歌於山頭，眷懷鶯歌的興盛繁榮，亦守護見證鶯歌的開發墾拓。
此件公共藝術，靈感取材於鶯歌石，以老鷹巨岩為造型，並結合揚名的陶瓷元素，創造出兼具歷史傳承與現代設計之市景地標，見證鶯歌百姓平安、百業興盛的誓望。此地標日間純粹鮮明、夜間光彩華麗，意涵著地方藝術創意與文化發展，白晝相繼、立地發揚，為鶯歌地區之守護新地標、文化新意象和未來新希望。

The Concept:
The region name "Yingge" originated from the homophonic Mandarin name of a huge rock located in the mountain north to the city, which is called the Yingge Stone as the stone appears to be an eagle overlooking the city. "Ying" in Mandarin can stand for Eagle and Oriolus while "Ge" means Singing; the name "Ying Ge" brings out the joy of a bird singing. The Yingge Stone has been going hand in hand with the region Yingge through its progress and the civil development. This spectacular natural wonder has been viewed as the landmark of Yingge.
Coming from the Yingge Stone, the inspiration of "Guardian of Yingge" integrates Yingge’s wide-known ceramics with the shape and adds a taste of modernism to this public installation and being a guardian of the flourish and prosperous city. Through this public installation, the profound culture can be promoted and meanwhile can generate indigenous recognition, which propels the artistic transformation and generalization. In addition, "Guardian of Yingge" can be regarded as the symbol of cultural scene in "Yingge".
